Location ideas

For our music video we wanted to use multiple locations for each chapter of the song in order to create a story. We wanted the main character to be shown passing through each location as a journey although she is in a dream.  With the first and last location being in her bedroom, her ultimate reality. A few different locations we were considering were a party setting, a field or open space outside, a busy central setting i.e. Piccadilly circus. Other ideas regarding costumes could include she changes outfit each time she appears in a new location to match the setting.

Inspirational music video

I wanted to speak about this particular music video (Beautiful to me - Olly Murs), as it is the type of video which includes minimal lip syncing and more of a story telling/ narrative element. Even though we have chosen to do a house genre song and this is more along the lines of the pop genre. I appreciate how the story is told between the two characters without the use of quick cuts, however fitted the beat of the song and changed locations to continue the story each time the beat or instrumental changed. It is a simple idea however still is hard hitting and beautiful to watch.

Song Decision Ideas

We have now started planning our A2 music video plans. I have decided to partner up with another classmate with similar music taste to my own. We are both quite keen on choosing a 'house' track. So far we are debating between:

1. Make me feel - Galantis, East&Young

2. Sunshine - Tieks

Both tracks are below 3:30 minutes, and have an upbeat tempo meaning we want to have quite an exciting and fast paced video.

We want the music to include:
- A story telling aspect
- Love story interpreted
- Party scene/ atmosphere
- Various locations
