Filming on an Iphone

We decided to use our Iphones to film for our music video, as we are currently living in the digital age of using phones to film footage is just as high quality or even better than a regular camera. We took from inspiration the 2015 film 'Tangerine' which was completely filmed on an Iphone 5S. Writer and director Sean Baker used an iPhone to shoot the movie in order to accommodate the film’s tiny budget. Critics marvelled at how the film looks like ‘a real movie’ despite using such ‘cheap’ technology to shoot it. Baker told The Verge that he and his team used three different iPhones, the $8 app Filmic Pro, a Steadicam, and some adaptor lenses that attach to the iPhone in order to get the look of the film. He said that he and his team overall had a very positive experience using the phones as cameras. After filming using both an Iphone 6 and 7 the high quality of imaging is clearly significant and in conclusion was the best decision and most ideal as meant not requiring as much equipment.

Advice from the Writer/ Director on using an Iphone to film footage for a film, in our case myself and my group watched this to gain knowledge for filming our own music video, although it did not require as much thoroughness as filming a full movie.
