Final magazine advert

Conclusively I chose magazine advert one as my finalised product for the cover. Due to having stronger and more positive feedback from the target audience, highly encouraged me to use this design as my final piece rather than my second design. I fitted all the guidelines necessary to produce a realistic EDM genre album poster. First of all, by clearly stated in bold the artists name, as well in the same font which also appears on my digipak in order to represent continuity between the two products. I presented the most highly anticipated new song in the centre of the page in order to capture the audience’s attention more, considering the music video for the new song is being released before any of the other new tracks on the album, standing it to have higher importance and value. As well, stating boldly the album title at the top of the page, making it very visible to audience members that the album is brand new. With the addition of logos where the new album and featured track can be purchased from. Finishing off the cover by quoting at the bottom of the page a lyric from the new featured track. Further enabling the persistence between all three main products. Therefore, making this the perfect final poster to present to my target audience in hope to draw in lots of anticipation and excitement.

Magazine advert feedback poll

Magazine advert 2

I decided to go into fairly similar into depth of the presentation of colour in my 2nd magazine advert attempt as my first. I similarly used a vibrant pink background in order to stand out as eye-catching, and once again fit in with my digipak colour design. I decided to use less imagery in this poster and instead focus on the colours used, I wanted the poster to stand out as artistic and happy, using a bright colour palette I believed would represent enthusiasm and mystery towards what the music video and the new album entailed and the type of genre the songs which would follow. I wrote boldly in the centre of page the name of the duo in order for audiences to instantly recognise and be intrigued by since new tracks have been released. I purposely put the text in between the imagery to make the text more vigilant and of importance. At the bottom of the advert I stated the name of the new track and that it is featured on the "brand new" album. I emphasized "brand new" in order for audiences to create buzz and affirm its current originality therefore influencing more people to purchase the album. As well, making the title of the album "electric disco" in bold to pop more and create more attention. Highlighted which outlets the track/ new album is available on, including a mixture of both online streaming apps as well as real-life stores to fit a variety of audience preferences. Also adding a barcode to make it quicker and more efficient for consumers to find the tracks. I lastly stated the website of the band for people to gain further knowledge in the ins and outs of the new album details and possible tour dates. In conclusion I was overall quite pleased with my second product and therefore was slightly torn between which magazine advert to use for my final choice.

Magazine advert 1

This was my first attempt at my own magazine advert poster for my A2 music video project. I tried to influence some conventions I had seen in previous EDM genre music advert's. Conclusively I recognised through my research that most EDM advertisements had a vintage appearance and included a colour palette of bright vibrant colours to catch the audiences eye. I included a lot of contrast between light and dark colours as well as a combination of bright colours including yellow, blue and orange. As well I used a bright pink background in order for the magazine advert to correspond with the Digipak cover. I chose to use a combination of darker toned and lighter toned filters in order to highlight that happiness exists both night and day, AKA as both bad days and good days. I featured images from my music video in order to represent continuity between the footage used and the images on the poster in order for audiences to easily recognise the band. At the top of the poster I included our band name 'KP&IZ' in bold and coloured in bright red to capture the audience’s attention as well appear clearly and concisely to who the duo is. I also announced the album's name and used bold text to announce the album was 'brand new'. By referring to the new track as the first edition to the new album, implies to the audiences that they will join an exclusive minority by purchasing/ downloading the album before anyone else first. As well, by referring to the album as an 'studio album' effectively adds on professionalism and represents the song as being performed by experienced/ well-liked artists. In the centre of the page, as well on top of the images I wrote the album tracks name "make me feel" to signify the title and forward audiences to recognise likewise remember the title. and at the bottom of the advert I included all the apps audiences could stream/ purchase the song from (Spotify, iTunes etc.) as well as where they can purchase a digital copy (HMV) to get access the new track. As well, I mentioned the artist’s website, in order for audiences to gain further information regarding the duo's new album. I also featured the release date, and included a quote from the song "there's nothing else this real" I done this in order to link continuity between the video lyrics to the poster's print and therefore test if audience members will recognise this feature. As well, I featured the 'universal' logo at the bottom of the poster to dedicate sponsorship and attention to the producers of the album/ music video. In conclusion I was overall very happy and pleased with the outcome of my poster, I successfully incorporated a vintage style and a brightly coloured palette outcome with clearly stated titles and relevant information required for the audiences to gain knowledge about the album.
