'I want you to know'-Zedd, Selena Gomez, is a key example of typical codes and conventions used in a house/ dance music video. It follows the usual party theme, dancing, and high-key lighting effects to give the video a vibrant look.

Codes & conventions of EDM videos
Music videos for house/dance music videos tend to not have as many codes and conventions, thus allowing more freedom when creating an idea for a video. Typical EDM videos tend to feature such elements as love, sexuality, and things a young audience can relate to. The videos tend to feature clubbing scenes, people dancing, pools, UV paint, drinking and drugs. The atmosphere is usually seen to be wild and crazy, exploring the fun aspects of life and the good times. In relation to these codes & conventions were one of the main reasons we chose our music video to not feature a particular story-line, instead follow a story shown to be about happiness. Dancing however is key for this type of genre to be featured in a music video, as the type of song the video is for tends to be most often played when people go clubbing. Which is why in my groups video we chose to put in clips from concerts and parties to fit the same upbeat conventions of the genre.
